THOUGHT HE HAD WON
VICTORIA CROSS, BIT HADN'T
LONDON, April 1. (By Mall.)-
William Richard Campbell, a driver
in the Australian army, suffered the
deep humiliation of trial by court
martial as a fake hero, because of a
forged letter from the decorations
department naming him for the cov
eted Victoria Cross for bravery.
Sergeant Leake, a real Victoria
Cross hero, helped in obtaining
Campbell's acquittal with an impas
sioned plea based on Campbell's mod
esty while he believed himself to be
the legitimate recipient of the honor.
Campbell was feted by the town of
Warebam and presented with an ad
dress by the mayor before rumors
circulated casting doubt on his right
to the honor. In surrendering the
ribbon he said be suspected his ene
mies In the corps of playing a trick
on him.
Soldiers attending the hearing
cheered several minutes over Camp
bell's acquittal.

GRAY HAIR NOW
DRUGGIST HAYS LADIES ARE
USING RECIPE OF MAGE TEA
AND SULPHUR
Hair that loses Its color and lustre,
or when It fades, turn gray, dull and
lifeless, is caused by a lack of sul
phur In the hair. Our grandmothers
made up a mixture of Sage Tea and
Sulphur to keep her locks dark and
beautiful, and thousands of, women
and men who value that even color,
that beautiful dark shade of hair
which Is so attractive, use only this
old-time recipe.
Nowadays wo get this famous mix
ture, Improved by the addition of oth
er Ingredients by asking' at any drug
store for a C0-cent bottle of "Wyeth's
Sage and Sulphur Compound," which
darkens the hair so naturally, so
evenly, that nobody can possibly tell
It has bean applied. You Just damp
en a sponge or soft brush with It and
draw this through your hair, taking
one small strand at a time. By morn
ing tbe gray hair disappears; but
what delights tbe ladies with Wyeth's
sage and Sulphur Compound la that,
besides beautifully darkening the
hair after a few applications It also
brings back tbe gloss and lustre aad
glVM It an appearance of abundance.
