George" 8tevenson, formerly of the
reclamation service of this city, re
turned last nigh from a trip Into the
Willamette Valley, and reports that
the valley towns are being swept with
a wave ot patriotic fervor, numerous
mass, meetings and preparedness
measures being taken, while all kinds
of war organisations are being formed
of both men and women. Stevenson
expects to remain here this summer
unless he should decide to Join an
army engineering corps. He is a
graduate of the University school ot
engineering, now abolished.
