Courtly Old Gentlemen Visit Klamath 18 Years j It waa eighteen summers ago, long before many people now in Klamath Falls ever saw the town, that Major J. H. Burnham and Dr. Robert Rooney first came to Klamath county to spend their vacation. Since that time they have spent every summer here. For the last twelve years they have lived in a private cabin at Eagle Ridge, and this summer are doing the same thing over again. Major Burnham is a banker of Fol- som, Calif., and Dr. Rooney has re tired, and lives in Auburn of the same state. For thirty years they have been chums, and- each summer have gone fishing together. The former has leached the ripe old age of three score cars and ten, whllo the latter is at the three-quartors of a century mark. Both are fishermen of ability, and each summer liavo made many fine catchoa in the waters around Eagle Ridgo Tavern. They always fish with a fly, and look with disdain upon the angler who uses any other means of getting trout. Dr. Rooney also is a pool. He has written what is said to be an excellent poem on Pelican Bay. Both are mem bdrs of prominent clubs In California. Major Burnham and Dr. Roonev sr splendid gentlemen, with courtly man ners of a bygone age. Saturday Double amount of tickets will be given with eaek purchase of suhkt dress Materials on Sat day.
