CMIoete 1 LUMBER OUTPUT MUCH CURTAILED CURTAILMENT IS SAIO TO BE MORE THAN 60 PER CENT OVER THC PRODUCTION OF THE WEEK BEFORE Herald Special Service PORTLAND, July 18. During the sawmill midsummer repairing season, which came to an end this week, pro duction in the fir district was curtailed more than 50 per cent, according to the weekly trade review of the West Coast Lumbermen's Association. In its analysis qf the barometer the association advised that while orders exceoded production by 47.82 per cent, and shipments exceeded production by 25.G6 per cent, business did not show improvement as to volume over the previous week. In other words, the barometer show Ing. whllo seemingly favorable as re gards the relation of new business and shipments to manufacture, was wholly Influenced by the abnormally restricted output. In the matter of new orders for rail delivery, ninety-nine mills tho previ ous week reported twenty cars more business than 116 mills last week: while the same ninety-nine mills the previous woek shipped 891 cars more than did the 116 mills represented In the latest barometer. Men and women who suffer from lumbago, rheumatism or sore, stiff, aching joints should begin drinking pbosphated hot water, not as a means to magic relief froaa pain, but to pre vent more uric acid forming la the system.
