though rough, one hardly left the seat,
and the bumps soon passed by. "Due
to the shock absorbers." said Jack.

been raining for some time, and tho
road was slippery. Dodging stumps,

the road was no Joke. It was an art.
Jack was asked If he had much of this
trnvel and he said "all the time," Be
tween stumps. And wo believe him,
for the way ho did It waa good to
watch, though once or twlco we were
afraid of "Betsy's" ability at cumo
Ing trees. But he did.
We finally pulled out up under a
tree and sought some shelter from the
rain when we noticed that Tommy
that's tho dog that occupies the bas
ket on the side running board, and
how bo manages to keep his place on
such trips Is just a little more than 1
would surmise to say.

Jack," and did not notice that he waa
gone for some time. I was coming
town, and hitting a good pace, and did
not know whether I wns going to have
much dog left or not. But Just as 1
waa turning around to go back for

I.c-0 M. Frank, written two days before
ho was taken from the state prison
farm at MUlcdgevllle, Ga., and lynched
by a mob, was received here today by
Benjamin I'. Wulff,.an attorney, and a
lifelong friend of Frank.
The letter, which was sent from the
prison farm and dated August 14th,

of Appreciation for your letter of July
28th. I am very thankful to an all
wlie Cod that I am able to write to
jou after having been so near death.
Surely I must have been spared to set
tho day when that honor, which is
Juttiy mine, shall be meted out to aw.
The wound In my neck will be entirely
hcnled within a few days. I am still
weak from initial loss of blood, and
am confined to bed. With every good
wish. In which Mrs. Frank Joins, I am
