ican Bay Mill company yesterday.

ing machinery of this splendid plant
bumre It to say, those huge double

feet of lumber every ten hours. That
means about S00 16-foo logs a day
It means lfi.000 feet every 60 mln
utes. The great steel belt drum in tho
engine room, that weighs 10,000
pounds. Is driven by an enaine that
Is exactly the same power a that
which drove the Merrlmac when she
smashed tbe Cumberland, and the
combined power of tho Pelican City
mill Is more than that of both the
Monitor and Merrlmac combined. Tho
plant gives employment to a big gang
of men, and the payroll Is a crest
help to tbe country and tbe town. We
should thank the manan-ement for
their enterprise, business attainment
and forward march.
