Astronomers and star gaxers In many
parts of the world were up at sun
rise today to observe the eclipse of
the sun.
For Just a few seconds after sun
rise, observers In the United State
north of Washington, mad as far vest
as Indianapolis were permuted Just
the slightest part ot the Boon's shad

woman suffrage will carry two to
one when the constitutional amend
ment providing for equal suffrage
is put before the voters ot Montana
at the November election, is the pre
diction made by the women at the
bead of the suffrage movement here.
In the opinion ot chairmen of po
litical parties, this estimate is some
what high, hut they admit that the
amendment Is likely to carry by a
big majority.
Headed by Jeanette Rankin, form
er held secretary ot the National Suf
frage Association, the women ot
Montana are conducting a whirlwind
campaign which will not end until the
votes are cast In November.
