best opera by an Italian composer.
The competition was entrusted by
Mrs. McCorralck to the authorities of
Parma In recognition of the honors
bestowed upon her and her husband
last year when they were made the
honorary cltlsens of the city of Parma
Jand glen the keys of the city for all
time to come.
Mrs. McCormlck was alo one of
the heaviest contributors to the Verdi
, ccntcnnlad celebration which was
held here In 1913.
