Father
Tradition has it that we called him "Da-da" at one
time. We remember him affectionately as "papa,"
then "pa" ; later as "father" and even when we refer to
him as "The Old Man" we are not disrespectful, but
juat a trifle familiar. We cannot forget him, and it
along about this time of the year that our memories
are most acute.
Remember how we used to hang to his coat tails
along about the time that preparations were being
made for the reception of Old Santa Claua? Remem
ber how we used to hang up our stockings on Christ
mas Eve? Although we were satisfied that dear old
Santa lived far up in the frozen North, we knew some
how or other that Papa was in dose touch with the be
whiskered individual, and, of course, we were right.
And now let's play Santa Claua to him. Think of
the satisfaction to him when he awakens on Christmas
morn and finds that his loved ones have not forgot
ten him.
By all :mui, kt't not forget "Dad"
Sister
Remember that Christmas when Santa Claus
brought sister that big wax doll? Yes, the one that
you found in her room and proceeded to eat all the
way off its face. Remember how she cried? Remem
ber how you promised to "make it right?" Have you
ever done it?
Remember when you came home from school one
day with your clothes torn and your face cut? Who
was it who cried with you and sympathized with you
in your youthful trouble?
And then later, when the Santa Claus myth had
been relegated to the past, from whom were you cer
tain of receiving some Christmas remembrance? Who
seemed never to forget the stocking hanging time?
Dear little sister will be the same always. Doesn't
make any difference whether she is in pinafore or a
hobble skirt
You nut not forget Sitter.

Of course she did.
And then when Christmas time approached, who

bad went without a new hat and skimped on the house
hold expenses in order that Santa Claus might come
as usual?
We nlmply cannot forget Mother
Brother
Of course he used to pull your hair, throw dirt on
your pretty new dresses, and ruffle up your pretty rib
bons, and tease you and your little friends, but brother
was "awfully good" at times, wasn't he?
And then, when everything seemed to be "perfectly
horrid" he was SO nice. Your troubles seemed so
slight when brother waa there to comfort you. And
brother was generally there when you most needed
him, wasn't he?
And later who took the greatest interest in the hap
piness of sister? Brother, of course, and he still takes
that interest. And he k the same brother, whether
he is in long trousers or knickerbockers.
