Sheriff David Ferguson of Akron
arrived in Salem the other day and
Governor West honored bis extradi
tion papers In time for him to leave
with the 16-year-old boy on the same
day.
That the boy Is clever beyond his
years, and completely throw the Ohio
office off bis trail, was stated by
Sheriff Ferguson, who said the lad
made his hauls at Silver Lake and
Springfield resorts. He secured near
ly 1200 in money. The officers found
In a cornflold, whero he left It, the
sack In which he had csrrlsd his loot.
After making the burglaries the
boy met two girls and made a date
to take them to a party. He told
them he lived In Cleveland, Ohio. He
stuttered a little. These, with tho In
formation concerning the boy's slse.

on which to work. They were search
ing for him In Cleveland, and had
lost all trace of him when Sheriff
Ferguson received a telegram from
Sheriff Mlnto of this place, Informing
him of the arrest.
Sheriff Ferguson says tho boy's
father Is a hard-working msn of
Louisville, Ky and that be has sa
uncle and grandfather living In
Akron, Ohio, where he had been vis

the burglaries.
Owing to the boy's slie and his
very boyish appearance, Sheriff Fer
guson said he dreaded hla return trip,

sured If he treated the lad as he
would a grown prisoner, and at the
