tho top ot the new eteel bridge lift
tower proposed by Harold L. True aa
a Hoe Festival feature Is being seri
ously considered by the Rose Festival
management.
Tho leap, If made, will be greater
than over before attempted by any
man. Tho lift towers of tho new
bridge aro higher than Niagara Palls.
The towers, according to 0. W.

It. a N.' romnint. mr 17S feat above
low water. At the highest point NT-T;,
agara Is 164 feet. This Is on the
American side. On tho Canadlaa side
the fall Is ISO feet. True's proposl
tlon becomes at onco ot Important
scientific conjecture. Can a man leap
from such a height, no matter how
expertly, and lire?
True avers that he can do It suc
cessfully. He hays he has discovered
a method of high diving which will
savo him from the slightest harm
Others claim that the force of the Im
pact of his body against the water
will wrest consciousness from him,
and that he will never rise again
until the grapplera get hold ot him
True Is a high diver ot long experi
ence, with many daring leaps to his
credit.
