COMMITTEE WHICH HAS IN
CHARGE RAISING OF FUNDS
FOR BOULEVARD ON STREET
BEGINS WORK
The committee which hag In charge
the collecting and disbursing of mon
ey for the Improvement of Second
street, began actual work today In
securing subscriptions. The commit
tee consists ot O. W. White, Alax Mar
tin Sr Fred Mclhase and John W.
Siemens.
Tho object ot the movement Is to
secure private subscriptions to the
mount ot about $10,000 to be used
la the Improvement ot 8econd street
from Klamath avenue to Lake Ewau
na. and to lay out and construct n
boulevard along the water front of the
lake to the city limit. The subscrip
tion are being pledged with tho un
derstanding that only 25 per cent ot
the amount subscribed by each Is to
be collected at a time, and that this is
to be used In carrying on the work
before other pa)mcnts are to be col
lected. The construction of a boulevard
along the water front south of the
elty Is one of the most Important and
beneficial moves ever started for the
good of the entire city. There are
very few localities on tho"coast with
tho natural advantages for the build
ing pf a beautiful city as has Klamath
Falls, and It Is surprising that tho
property owner not only In the busi
ness district, but on the hill, between
the bridge and Fifth street, have not
sooner realised the great benefit of a
bautlful driveway out Second street,
and taken action.
A great many beautiful residences
have been erected on the hlll'jn the
