(and In favored sections three) crops
nro cut each year, and after the last
harvest tho vigorous growths permit
ot pasturago for stock.
The Klamath section will rival
pastern Washington and Oregon In
wheat production, both In quality and
quantity. Land well cultivated and
with plenty of water yields fifty bush
ols of wheat to the acre, while dry
farming secure from twelve to twen
ty bushels. Tho average, under fav-
orablo water conditions, should be
thirty-five, busbel to the acre.
Oats yield per acre, with dry farm
ing, from twenty-five; to thirty bush-
ols; on Irrigated land, sixty bnshels;
and with exceptionally favorable con
ditions, almost a hundred. Barley
ylolds, on dry land, twonty-fivb bush
ols per acre,, which la always doublod
and ofton trebled on properly Irri
gated land. Rye also grows well, pd
peoullarly enough Is often dry farmed
as n hay or roughage crop for stock.
Applo raising will prove a profit
rble occupation In tho uplands. Pears,
plums, prunes and cherries do sjrell.
