says he would only muster 1G9 elec
toral votes, or 44 short of enough
to tend blm to Washington. If ho
ran give 15 of the doubtful votes, he
will only hare 184 electoral votes
and will remain at Falrvlew for an
other four years.
On the other band. General Klefer
shows that Taft could Ioko all the
so-uilled doubtful states and 43
votes of the 285 classed as certain
for him and still bo elected. Now
York and Wyoming could ho drop
ped out and Taft still win, If only
14 of the doubtful 29 should go to
Taft.he could still lose New York,
Indiana and Wyoming, or states with
a llko number of electors (57) and
win.

than that any will fall from the 285
