AQUISTION
Every citizen of KlamatH Falls
ahould ask himself this question.
Am I doing everything-1 could to
impress upon strangers the ad
vantages of this town and county
as a permanent home, or am I
allowing myself by careless re
marks to discourage would be in
vestors and residents? After
asking yourself this question just
spend ten minutes in serious
thought and see if you are not
partly responsible for some of
the people who are weekly going
out of here disgusted with the
people and their manner of doing
business. Perhaps you are not
ware that each week from three
to four people, who came here
with money to invest, leave the
country with aa unfavorable im
pression to report to their friends.
This however is the plain truth,
and these few who leave wilt do
more to prevent others from com
ing here than can be overcome
by all the advertising that we
will do in the next year. The
trouble is that our real estate
men do not work together, each
one is working as individuals,
with the sole purpose of selling
some of their own property at a
profit to themselves. Now these
men should form an association,
and when a buyer came here, see
that he got what ho wanted. If
on cannot sell him, let some one
else do so. The main object to
be obtained is to satisfy the in
vector and by all means keep
hisa here. Do not let him get
way. We have two or three
street brokers, who never told
pise of property in their lives,
whe always "butt" in on every
new comer and bore him so that
he ia driven out of the country
before he has had a chance to see
anything of our resourc es. .

A "manless Eden." a heaven
in Wyoming for all suffragettes,
place where under the trained
hands of twenty or more fair
Chicago girls, a model little city
will spring to life, is being plann
ed by Mrs. T. Vernette Morse,
president of the Arts-Crafts In
stitute, who will be the "Mother
Eve" of the colony. An agent
has already been dispatched to
Wyoming to search for a sight
for this colony and young women
are preparing lists of farming
implements, carpenters' tools,
lumber, brick and other material
necessary for the building of the
first places of habitation. Ac
cording to Mrs. Morse, mere man
will be employed in the first in
stance to break the ground of the
new colony. Then he will be
dispensed with entirely. The
young women themselves will
proceed to build the houses, lay
out the gardens and plant their
truck.
MltUMCHlOM
Dr. Robert Koch, celebrated
German scientist, before leaving
St. Louis for the west, told his
friends of all he bad ever seen,
the .American women are the
most beautiful. He said that in
addiUon'to beauty the American
women bad decidedly pleasing
air of independence.
Dosen't look as if either of
them were as sure of their politi
cal future as they pretend to be
when Taft will not resign from
the cabinet, ana Bryan and John
son are both said to be making
lecture engagements for next
year.
