If the customs officials succeed
in settling the question that
comes from Cuba as to whether
turtles are reptiles or not, they
will probably be in a good frame
of mind for tackling the question
as to whether clam digging is
fishing or agriculture.
Frederick H. Milliner, an elec
trical engineer of Omaha, has
succeeded in applying the prin
cipals of wireless telegraphy to
an electric motor, and a party of
electricians was permitted Sun
day to examine a wireless electric
truck that has been in use in the
Union Pacific shops for several
weeks.
Whether the people of a xity
have the right to invoke the ref
erendum on ordinances passed
by the Council, is being argued
before a Portland Judge. Ref
erendnm petitions were circulate
, ed against the vehicle tax. but
the city continues to enforce the
ordinance, and so a suit was
brought to decide the case.

Advertisers should bear in
mind that The Herald is con
ceded to be the leading paper in
Klamath Falls. Two-hundred
and eight papers, a gain of twen
ty, in the past month, are now
being delivered to the homes of
Klamath Falls citizens. We are
determined to increase this num
ber to 500 before the summer is
over. If you are not a subscriber
we can show you why you should
be.
What is the matter with hav
ing a fish hatchery established in
Klamath? There would be no
harm in trying. Pressure should
be brought to bear on the Oregon
Fish Commission" to induce them
to do something for this section.
Klamath can now boast of having
the greatest fishing streams on
the coast and this reputation will
bring thousands of sportsmen to
this lection, with the result that
the streams will be depleted of
fish if something isn't done at
once to perpetuate the finny
tribe. mmmsmtmmamm

that precious comb sticks to its
