By a provision in the direct primary |
Jaw enacted last June at the polls, regis
tration of voters will be resinned this
Autumn for the November election.
( Heretofore the registration law has taren
deficient in that respect, for it required
electors to register prior to May 13 in
i order to vote in November for President,
’ or else to vote on the affidavit of six free
holders. County clerks throughout the
state are now required to reofien the
registration >>ook* "between Septcmlier
20, Hk>4, and 3 o'clock p. m., of Octotarr
20, 11MM. and between the same dates in
each and every year thereafter in which
there shall la- an election of Presidential
electors." Since the section referred to
was not amended until the adoption of
the referendum vote last June, Attorney
General Crawford holds that all who
register lor the election will not be re
quired to register for tlir election of this
November.
In November the first election for pro
hibition will la? held under the local
option law, on the same day a* the elec
tion for President, namely November N.
