Monday evening the reguiar meeting for March of the Jacksonville board of trade was held in the town hall. After the minutes had been read by Secretary Williams the proposition of placing an exhibit in the immigration room in tue Union Depot in Portland was taken up ami the advertising committee was authotized to get up a set of photographic views and have them mounted in a large frame and sent to Portland. The commit tee was also authorized to get up an edition of 5000 folders descriptive of this section and which would contain answers to all the general questions asked by prospective immigrants. These folders will t>e given to any person wishing them or mailed to parties in the East and a quantity will be sent to the Harriman Immigration Bureau in Chicago audio Portland to place in the immigration room along with the photogtaphic view exhibit. The question of organzing a co-oper ative rural telephone company was taken up and it was decided that a public meet ing should be called by the president at such «late as lie should fix to be attended by those interested in tne forming of a telephone company. As the bad condi tion of the roads has precluded the possi bility of a general gatliehing of farmers an«l now that the roads «nay be possible the farmers are too busy with their farm work to atteml a meeting so the matter has been postponed until in May when the rush of spring work is over. In the meantime a membership roll will lie cir culated to secure the signatures of all desiring to have the use of a telephone. A special meeting of the board of trade is called for next Monday evening by President Meserve for the purpose ol dis cussing wavs and means of securing better and more adequate hotel accom modations for Jacksonville. The board of trade extends an invitation to attend to all w ho are interested in the upbuilding of Jacksonville. Mr. and Mrs. Nunan have received word that their daughters, Mrs. Jose phine Russell and Miss Frances Nt nan will be home by Easter.
