Many candidates for public office
sailing under the Republican banner
in the recent election exhibited an
Indlferent, arrogant and even hostile
attitude toward the Negro voters, man
ifesting a belief that the only consid
eration to be accorded the Negro is a
hand shake and hello before election
day, in an effort to secure his vote.
A fter the election Is over, as usual,
the jobs and numerous considerations
are given to the other fellow while
the Negro stands wishing and long - 1
ing for a job. In the mean time the
office holder whom the Negro voters
helped to put' into office, seems to
draw him self Into a hole and pull the |
dirt ln after him. Truly pride goeth ,
before a fall and few more experlencee
for the Republican party like that of
the N ovem ber election will cause the
old party to awake to the truthfullness
