Beatrice Reed, popular colored attendant at M iller and Tracey Mortu ary, J7a FHa street en joy» the distinc- tion of being the only woman of color thus employed in the city of Portland. Mrs. Reed has been with the firm for a number of year, and although she recently married she still holds her position there. Mrs. Reed speaks in glow ing terms of the fairness and excellency o f her employers. She is anxious that readers of the Advocate get in direct touch with her when in need o f services of a funeral director which all need at some time or other. The fact that thi» firm gives employ ement of a high char acter to one of the colored race is a reason advanced by her friends that the race should show its appreciation by patronizing her especially in view of the fact that Milter and Tracey are equipped to give the very best in fun eral service at the lowest cost. Mrs. Reed works only a half day aa the mortuary but if anyone desires to get m touch with her she hopes they « i l l call her residence. -------- 0-------- A great mass meeting under the aus pices of the L S X R will be held Sunday (to m o rrow ) at 3 P.M. at the Elks hall.
