NOT A FAD
Electricity in the home, the office or the manufacturing establishment,
In every community you will nnd
some of our people, who, by the use
ot business methods, frugal hv mg and
right thinking that have prospered,
ih cir success may be only in the form
of a small store, a service enterprise,
a particular profession or they may be
the genius behind a succccssful bank,
insurance or finance company, a pub
lishing house or in any form of legi
timate enterprise.
—o —
The point is that these successful
people have administered their own en
terprises, whether large or small, m a
meritorious business-like manner and
are aliording our people employment
proportionately. Every dollar that
they have made is the result of render
ing some kind of useful service in a
manner that has resulted in profit.
1 heir success does n ot‘ represent «
series of donation-campaigns and con
sequently they know how to conserve
and increase their hard-earned assets
It is just as much an essential commodity as any other commodity re-
quired in the operation of these institutions.
Fashions in methods of its
utilization may vary from time to time, but its usefulness and the need
for it are basic
We are in the business of manufacturing, selling and distributing this
commodity. It is our business to furnish a never-failing supply of kilowatt-
hours and to distribute them in the most efficient manner possible
This it what constitutes servee. The best possble service at the lowest
possible cost it our one aim, and we recognize that only by the accomplish-
ment of this aim can we discharge our obligations to the individual and the
community.

THEM DAYS ARE GONE FOREVER
A group of business engineers after
studying and analyzing the require
ments of a community can find many
prospective avenues of legitimate en
terprise that would afford our group
employment and which could be well
managed by those who have managed
their own businesses successfully, pro
viding they had the necessary capital
to extend their operations. Here's
where some of our professional pan
handlers could be used. They are so
clever in raising money purely through
emotion and for some very useless and
impractical purposes, that their ef
forts, for once, could be concentrated
on raising money for some very
necessary and practical purposes They
wouldn't even have to ask for dona
tions, they could transfer a propor
tionate share of ownership for each
dollar secured. In time, the same dol
lar would be returned many times
over to its donor and the surplus
could then be distributed voluntarily
to the real worthy charities in our
midst. What’s your opinion!

and I think it is time that the people

the conditions in our prison. Suppose
some one belonging to any one of us
was sent to prison, wouldn't we be
