Hie Negro painter, K alifala Sidihe. from the K ilim a n ja ro dis­
trict of A frica, is attracting much attention in Paris through an e x ­
hibit of his native paintings. I le shows uni<|ue skill in some of his
work.
W hen working at home he squats before his hut and prepares
> II his work bit by bit without any general design.
O n the top left I fere he is seen in front of his native hut with
his vigorous family.

now en joyin g great success in Berlin. G erm a n y , w here his paint­
ings Are favorably criticised.
Chock-full of melody is this harm onica player who blew his way
into and out of trouble.
New York. C larence Holland, clad in pink overalls, blowing a
few tunes on the harmonica which got him into trouble and which
got him out ol it also.
I lolland symphonied in the subway
and drew a crowd for which he was arrested on a charge o f b lo c k ­
ing traffic. W hen arraigned in court he played for Judge D reyer
and drew a suspended sentence.
