R ing C hristinas chimes, ring round the earth
We celebrate the M aster’s b irth —
Through Him love for mankind was ta u g h t—
And m ighty were the wonders w rought;
Ring out ye chimes; ring long and clea r—
Ring bells of C hristm as every y ear—
Sing songs o f gladness, praise and love—
His b irth , a g ift from Heaven above.
R EFR A IN —
R ing C hristm as bells, peel fo rth ag ain —
His m essage o f good-will to men—
Anew we celebrate His b irth —
A t home, abroad, all 'round the earth ;
“Ho tau g h t us how to w atch and p ray —
And live rejoicing every day.”
He was a g ift from Heaven above—
Sings songs o f gladness, praise and love—
Ring Christm as bells, ring everywhere—
Send the glad tidings th ru ’ the a ir—
R ing forth a t home, ring fo rth abroad—
His life and love, a g ift from God.
Before we go to press next week
Christinas Day will have come and
gone.
The Advocate is very thankful
that it is still here, to again wish
all its readers and friends a Merry
Christmas 1
It is regrettable that not all peo
ple will have a merry and prosper
ous celebration of this annual event.
But it is incumbent upon those who
are enjoying prosperity to remem
ber in some tangible way, those who
are less fortunate.
Some people will entertain and
be entertained—they will enjoy all
the blessings that go with Christ
mas Day, while thousands upon
thousands, like Jesus, when He was
on earth, will not have a place to
lay their heads.
We hear much
about prosperity, yet all around us
we see men out of work—homeless,
penniless, friendless and hungry,
Christmas is a time when true
charity should be practiced toward
the poor and needy. As long as
there is variation in mankind, just
that long will Christmas have a dif-
ferent meaning to different people
To some, it will denote a time when
religious zeal can mount to a high
pitch; to others, it is merely a time
of year when social activity reaches
its peak; to still others, it has a two
fold meaning, a time to give and a
time to receive gifts. And to a
certain small percentage of people,
it is a season of peace. And that is
the kernel of the most sincere Xmas
spirit—the realization of a tempo-
rary and a striving for a permanent
