Blessed be the fashion makers who designed our present “ clothesless” fashion. Congratulations to W. L. Mc Laren and to Oregon. He seems to be appreciated outside o f Oregon as well as at home. I discovered the item announcing his election as president o f the National Prisoners’ Aid Asso ciation at Tacoma yesterday down in a corner on the four teenth page o f our Oregon Bi ble today. Had he been elected president o f the National Golf Caddy Association, the article would have been on Page 1, column 1. Did you ever notice what an expensive article cleanliness is? Imagine yourself these hot nights in a $3 to $5 a week room and a community bathtub with scanty hot water supply and a $15.00 or $20.00 a week job, and then talk about the terrors o f hot weather. It is enough to make a Communist out o f a Coolidge republican. My sympathies to ye editor. He nas some big job on his hands, with the associate editor skylarking off to conventions.
