Feb.3- Agricultural extension work for Negroes by Ne groes under the direction of the United States Depart ment of Agriculture has pas sed its first 10-ycar mile stone. Some of the achieve ments of the period are re corded in a new publication just issued by the depart ment as Miscellaneous Cir cular 72-C, "A Decade of Ne gro Extension Work, 1914- 1924". The figures indicat ing progress in the work are of interest now, but they will increase in importance and value with the passing of time, says the department. I recall how my mother used to hum the old songs and the joy she got out of them. And now I can sing them in the same spirit. We were thankful to have so many white friends out to heir us. Every body seemed to have enjoyed the services if one can judge by the many compliments heard on ail sides, from those who were present and those who "lis tened in”.
