ADVOCATE
Howard University students,
colored, set a fine example for
others to follow when they went
on a strike against eompulsory
military training the other day.
Let the war lords ami those who
want to piek a squabble with some
foreign nation, do thw training
and the fighting, too.
They’re
the only ones who get anything
out of war. It'a about time peo
ple come to their senses, if men
refuse to tram and fight, war will
automatically outlaw itself.

Leave It to the Women
It is refreshing lo say the least when
we read ever so often of American
colored people with backbone enough
to property resent insult
As in the
case of the colored women m W ash
ington. D. C. The foreign delegation
can go back to their homes with a
slight idea of what it means to he black
in America, and the real conditions
which exist towards the blacks in the
land of the free and the home of the
brave. Leave it to the women. They
know when they are insulted and they
know how to resent it too.

What Are You Doing to
Save Them?
Isn’t it about time for the older
heads in the community to stop
talking about the young people
going to the bad. and get right
themselves, and arrange some
thing good for their amusement f
By doing so, it will help to inspire
the young folks to do higher
things. The Get Acquainted Club
has started on the right track and
while the club has a lot of steam
as was exhibited at its banquet
Tuesday night, it needs the coop
eration of all. The load is a heavy
one. the grade is steep and rocky,
with many crooks and turns in it,
but with help from us all. it can
do a great good in helping the
young and old folks to eradicate
their differences, which keep them
apart is a race. The club is doing
good work, let us all boost and as
sist in making it greater.
