POLITICAL RECOGNITION
Some of the rock-ribbed colored
Republican! in Oregon are damning
the leaders and office holders of the
party for no other reason than that
they are sot now receiving and
■ever have received any substantial
recognition in the way of political
appointments. The guestion la: Why*
Now while the office holders are
largely to blame for the lack ot loy-
ally and appreciation tor the col-
ored voters’ support, the colored vot-
ere must lay some of the blame upon
themselves, for they are not in har
mony and have been unable to agree
upon the selection of the proper men

that conditions are not what they
should be and will never be so long
as the leadership is content with
empty promises and a few paltry
dollars.
