    WILLIAMS AVENUE "V” NOTES
Over 40 young people attended the
"social hour" al the “Y" on Sunday,
the 21st. It was moat unfortunate
that a group of race boys who were
not Interested In the meeting should
throw an odorous bomb Into this
gathering. May we ask your aid in
discouraging this and other acts of
lawlessness.

PARIS, Oct. 18.—The French auth
orities have again emphatically for
bidden the showing of Thomas Dix
on's infamous motion olcture pro
duction, "The Birth of a Nation,” un
til all scenes containing Negroes or
the Ku Klux Klan bave been elim
inated.
The action of the authorities in pro
hlbiting the showing of the picture
when it first came to France, aroused
International comment.
Film men
declare that the picture would be
robbed of its value, if the scenes ob-
jected to by the French censors are
cut out.
The promoters ot the picture stand
to lose over 3,040,000 francs.
