And it is commendable that the thinking people of the Race have learned that tact, and after much coatly experi- mice, and are putting it into practice, Take tor example the Grand Lodges throughout the country and many of the subordinate ones: They are put ting men and women in office to lead them who not only have demonstrat ed their qualification* in business and in the professional world, but who have something to show besides the gift of gab that they are fit to Í lead others; some things that count for respect, consideration and influ ence in the community; the kind I that enable them to help not only the ■ organisation, but the entire race. GOVERNOR WALTON Those people who stand for law and order will sadly regret the defeat of Governor Walton of Oklahoma in his courageous, manly fight to overthrow the ruie of the "Invisible Empire“ in that state. The great mistake of the Governor was his attempt to prevent by force of arms the bolding of the special election which had been authorized by the Legislature in its regular session and endorsed by the Governor. This act of the Governor no doubt was the cause that brought about his inglorious defeat, for it is a well known tact that the people will not stand to be bull-dosed and bullied by armed forces.
