Paisley's citizens were eorniflerahly surprised Monday morning when they arose and beheld about four inches of snow on the ground, and more coming down. Something unusual for this time of year, but it waa nearlr all gone by noon. New srrivals are coming into Paisley daily and investigatng the resources of these remarksble vallevs. Many are staying and the population of this town will increase considerable during the next bix months. F. M. Miller and Geo. D. Harrow of Lakeview were in Paisley for a couple of dsys last week, looking over a business proposition here. Silver Lake Items (Silver Lake Leader) Frank Jameson and A. E. Imbler went to Lakeview last Friday, return ing Sunday. Maurice Murpby, tbe Paisley sheep man, returned from Thompson valley Sunday, where he has located his sheep for the summer. Under the direction of E. B. Brewer tne road leading north from town, across tbe swsmp, has been repaired, ana is now in fine condition. Tbe ZX company are moving a large number of cattle' to spring range on the desert from the ranch in Chewau can valley. Dad Wortbington was in charge. H. F. Swingle, ot Fort Rock, and Reason Harris, of Summer Lake, have been subpoenaed as witnesses in the Robinson case, which will be called next week at Prineviile. Ficksbarg is tbe name of a new townsite on the Oregon Eastern survey irom Vale to Crescent, tbe line run ning through the townsite. It is near tbe center of Christmas Lake valley and a very desirable location for a town. Prof. Dunton of the Lakeview high school, came up on his motorcycle last Saturday, and went out to Fremont where he mei Walter Gardner the agent for the Oiegon Electric at For est Grove. Tbey passed through town in the afternoon bound for Lakeview. Postmaster-General Burleson has ordered that unpaid, misdirected, un mailable and unclaimed postal cards, as well as post cards deposited for delivery, be returned to the sender when they bear card address. Twelve million poet cards acnually, it is esti mated, will beJ returned under the order to senders. ; Fruit districts of the state might take a tip from Hood River bee keep ers, who have asked that orcbardists do not spray their trees during the time the blossoms are fully open. This will result in killing large num ber of beea.v which are the most valu able helpers the orchardists have. Their aid is invaluable in spreading pollen from tree to tree.
