Mr. McKimeis report that he ia confident he will be able to get a small hatchery located In this county, which will probably be placed on Drew Creek. Luther Webster and Frank t truck returned last week trom Paisley where they have been building a house for Mrs. Anna Blair. Mr. Webster is superintending (be construction but was compelled to luy off a few days owing to a tire in the Potts Bros, dry ing kiln which destroyed the finishing ljmber wbich ws for tile Mr. Blair house. Beginning last Thursday a change was made in the Western stage sche dule, it now leaving Lakeview in tbe evening and arriving In the morning. The Summer schedule lessens the time twelve hours between here and the Falls, it making the trip in one day and night. Burns Time Herald: There have j r een something over 3000 head of cattle told in this section this spring and shipped to outside points. Tbis means a considerable amount of money put in circulation and gives some idea of the magnitude of tbe stock business in this county. Fostmatter Ahlstrom reporU that during the month of April there were j 3390 money orders cashed at tbe local I office. The money paid out for cashing the orders amounted to 110,640.74. whiob is heavy business for one month, tut was considerably enlarged by the money order which came in for pay ment of taxes. j With the exception of a very little 1 work to be done sidewalk have been provided on all properties facing the west side of Dewey street leading from Slash to the High School, which j ii of considerable advantage to pedes trians of that district and especially prions of the school. Undoubtedly the most successful social yet undertaken by the local or der of Encampment was held last Fri day evening in the l.O.O. F. hall. About one hundred people were in at tendance and the evening was most en joyably spent. S. F. Ahlstrom and D. T. Godsil were on the Encampment committee to manage the entertain ment and thay were assisted by a com mittee of the Rebekah degree, the sister members of that order having' provided a goodly portion of the re freshments. Another social will be given the first part of next month. It is reported that E. Gabby, a home steader in the Thorn Lake section in Northern Lake, had a close call to meeting death one night last week when some unknown person fired a shot through bis window while the occupant was lying on a bed in the house.
