Sugar Beets Shipped Three cars of sugar beets brought in to Reno by the N.-C.-O. railroad and transferred to the Southern pacific for Fallon bring the total shipment of beets handled by the N.-C.-O. from points along its line to about sixty cars this season, says tbe Reno Journal. Most of tnese beets have been Bbipped from Madeline and Amedee and ex ceed the record of past years by a num ber of cars. Agents of tbe N.-C.-O. stated last night that they believed these cara practically finish tbe beet season, as tbe harvest has been completed for some tine and the product has teen hastened to tbe.factory as 'fast as the railroad has been able to handle it. Acccording to the figures in the Sparks office, the Southern Pacific will banile in all about 200 cars of .beets thia. year. It is reported that information was recently telephoned from Rend to La Pine that two men of tbe tormer place had made a wager as to when construc tion work on the Oregon Trunk south of Bend was to begin.
