PAISLEY HAS TWO
JAIL DELIVERIES
Chewaucan Fresa: Paisley bad
sensational jail delivery last Tuesday
nisht, one of tbe remarakole features
of it. beirg that it ie tbe second time
that the same party baa succeided in
getting away from the authorities here.
Last sumrniTier, before tbe town was
incorporated, Jack Leader came to
town and started to liven things up on
Malo Street. Alvin Moss, the Con
stable, objected to these proceedings
and threw him in tbe citv cooler. Tbe
next day he was fined for disorderly
conduct, and Deing unable tn pay tbe
fine imposed, was put back In iail to
serve time. But some indiscreet friend
came to bis rescue tbe first night and
cut the lock.
Leader took flight and was seen no
more in Paisley till last week, when,
remembering the old grudge, the
authorities put him away for safe keep
ing tbe second time. Be was locked up
Thursday afterooon, and at seven
o'clock that evening Mr. Moss visited
the iail and found everything O.K., yet
at eight o'clock Leader was seen on
the streets, but be faded into tbe outer
darkness, and has nut been seen since.
Whoever cut the staples did a quick
and masterly iob of it. Considerable
circumstantial evidence is piling up
against tbe party suspected by the
city officials and though no definite ac
tion has so far been taken, it ia like
ly that someone will be called to ac
count for the action soon. 1
