mining man of Sacramento. He is now
busy with the preliminaries to a stren
uous campaign ot powder and steel.
Lease No. 4, Sunshine, has been se
cured by W. S. Moore, our local as
sayer who baa associated etrong Colo
rado capital with him in the enterprise.

clean up a fortune from the lease.
Leaae No. 6, Sunshine, beld ty Mc-
Fall, Nelson and Sargent waa the acene
of a phenomenal atrike thia week at
the breast of the tunnel ahowing 8
inches of $100.00 ore. They are now
drifting on the vein to determine the
extent of tb rich ore body.
Lease No. V, Sunshine, held by Mc-
Kall, Nelson and Ahlstrom opened rich
ore on the vein. Tbey are cutting a
station to sink winze In the tunnel to
depth of 800 feet.
The Sunshine Company haa a force
of men taking out rich stuff and sack-
ng ore at the North end of tbe vein.
ElHewbere in the district much activ
ity prevails. While the Sunshine con-
nues to be the banner property are
forging to the front, and some of them
ill most certainly write splendid re
cords.

Tonight the town of High Grade will
be dedicated to the world and to pos
terity In a manner becoming the griz
zled veterans of many districts.
Tbe occasion of thia event ia the
opennlg of communcation with tbe out
side world with Camp High Grade
by wire and the opening of business
in tbe post office which waa consum
mated this week.
A bugh bonfire on the summit ot
Yellow Mountain that will l.luminat
the Warner range, Sunset and Surprise
valleys for many mile will be one of
the features.
A barbecue in tbe town of Hibg
Grade has been provided .for. Iwbich
will be accompanied byapeech making,
gamea etc.
The festivities will cloee with a
grand ball to which everybody on tbe
range and In tbe valley la invited.

Fivs mowers and two rakea are at
work on the 460 acres. Seven men in

different capacities harvesting tbe croo,
Mr. Green estimates tbat It will re
quire 25 daya to plaoe tbia first cuting
in the stack. He says that the crop la

The Big Four Mill will begin opera
tions next week on tbe several hundred
tona of ore already mined, and the big
ledge ot low grade estimaud to contain
100,000 tons which assays better than
3500. per ton. Tbia ledge stands out
on the North end of tbe property and

Payne Brothers Transfer Company
bauled the new cams up the mill on
Tuesday and they are being Installed.
