RICH STRIKE IN
FAIRVIEW LODE
J. P. Branley Opens In
mense Body on Seven
Lakes Property
(High Grade News)
At the breast of the tunnel in the
Fairview, one of the Seven Lakes
group on Yellow Mountain, J. P.
Branley, the local manager, has broken
into a tody of white and yellow honey
combed quartz resembling ore from
the recent etirke in the Bg Four,
which adjoins this property.
Eleven different veins radiate from
a common center in this property only
fifteen feet from the breast of the tun
nel. The strike baa created much in
terest in the district. It is a practical
demonstration of the absolute merits
ot the camp under fair, honest and
systematic operations. It it proof that
High Grade is a real mining district
of unauestioned deposits of gold. It
silences the hammer of the knocker and
the croak ot the pessimist and piker.
It sets to rest forever ail doutt as to
the future of High Grade.
The magnitude of the ore body can
not at this time be even conjectured.
No man can see beyond the point of bit
pick. The strike it only 80 teet under
the turface. It Is in the center of a
great fissure and contact area. Great
mines are on all sides, some of them
among the best in the district, and the
Fairview is seeming common a center
for vast network of veins.
Mr. Branleytakeshis good luck mod-
etiy. He Is a practical man of good
common sense. His property is always
open to inspection' to the publio. There
is no concealment of property or pur
pose with him. He is In High Grade
to mine and to ship ore. He will make
a trial shipment from the Fairview toon
and if that does not pay he will make
another, but he is certain that if will
pay from the start.
It will only require a few Branleya
in the district to place Camp High
Grade on the map promsrly.

A NEVADA OPINION
OF NEWTOWNSINE
Falrport Rocelves Praise
From Reliable and Im
portant Sourco
(High Grade New)
Nevada State Journal : A new town
on the N.-C.-O. has been named by a
reader of The Journal. When the rail
road, the general offices of which are
located in this city, decided to lay out
the new town, the subscribers of The
Journal were asked to auggest a name
for It. More than 500 complied. The
name of Falrport, submitted by ene
subscriber, waa aucepted and the town
will be known by that name In the
future.
Sunset Lake, on the banks of which
the new town ia located, la one of the
moat picturesque in the west. Reno
men who have been Instrumental In
bringing about so many Improvement!
In that section, are behind the new
town, and will push it to the front.
A pier 300 feet long will be built out
into the water, and Improvements of a
substantial character are to be made
that will attract attention to this
plaoe.
Tne country about Sunset Lake It
famoua for Its horticultural product.
The fruits from the orchards of the
Sunset or Goose Lake Valley region are
known well and favorably. The place
ia proctected from the chill winds and
while frosts have occurred in many
other sections, the blossoms ot the
Sunset region have not been damaged,
and all Indications mint to the fact
that the fruit crop will be of the Lum
per character this year.
It ia the intention of the men behind
the enterprise to out a large tract up
in the orchards, and to bring In a num
ter of settlers, to the end that the new
town will be one of the busiest places
along the line of the N.-C.-O.
The soil ia volcanic ash, and la
splendidly adapted to the growing of
fruit. It is predicted that thla aection,
within a short time will become fully
aa famoua as the Roeoe River, Hood
River or North Yakims.
The new town will not depend, how
ever, on the horticulture resources, lor
tributary to It there are nearly 50,000
acres of the finest kind of agricultural
landa.
Within nine miles there ia a stand of
2,000,000,000 feet of lumber. The till
ing of tne land the felling of the trees
and the development of the orchard
tracts will make of the new town one
of the best known along the line of the
road.
In addition, there are the mineral re
sources of the country now undergoing
tuoh rspld development. The new camp
of High Grade la located near here.
Some of the best known mining men
of the west are on the gruund and have
interested themselevs in this section.
The work of prospecting and develop
ment is in progress thciu at the present
time.
Ibis camp has had the tifect of at
tracting a great many tituple to' that
section, whom are favorably impressed
with the county.
A depot and hotel, together with
other buildings, is to be erected by the
N.-C.-O. R. K., and with other struc
tures, among which i the big pier, a
building boom of importance will te
inaugurated the promises to make it
one of the beat cities in that section of
California tributary to Reno.
