The N-C-0 Railway Company has filed in the office of the County Re corder at Alturaa, plat of the town of Kalrport. recently surveyed, on the California aide, running up to the State line and from Goon. Lake East. The Importance of thit movement can only be very vaguely surmlted. It meant that Camp High Grade, after months of critical examination has re ceived of the otlicial approval of the N.-C.-O. people, and that they will now spare neither pain, or money to make of thia region the wonderland it in destined to be. Fairport ia a pretty anil appropriate name. It waa .elected after mn different names had been submitted by many different people. The town will be made one of the live ones of the road. Already con tracts have been let for the construc tion of a handsome oassenger dext one half mile south of the present de pot at the foot of Canyon Ave. W. K. Fayne, of Lakeview will have charge of the sale of lots. A pier will te built in Goose Lake near tne tmssenger depot and a line ef passenge boats and freight barges put in operation for pleasure and busi ness. a This movement meant more for Camp High Grade and thia entire region than anything hitherto attempted or ac complished. On all the globe there never can be a lovelier spot than "Fairprrt, The Beautiful." .! . . - J We Also Furntshi SURETY BONDS una FIRS INSURANCE H. W. MORGAN, Manager, LAKEVIEW. Weber, president of the Conniemac Mining and Reality Co. of Denver, is in the camp making careful investigation of the formation, record and possibilities of Camp High Grade. Mr. Weber is keen, shrewd, enter prising business man with a long and successful business career to bis credit. He has financed many important en terprises and carried them to success. Through representatives on the ground the Conniemac has acquired possession of the Golden Gate, Golden Sun, Golden Crown, Jasper Wall and Marion' G. locations at the head of Myrtle creek, which are classed among the most promising porpertiea in the camp. The Golden Gate, Golden Sun and Golden Crown embrace a huge prophyry dyke 4500 feet in length and miner alized the entire distance. The Jasper Wall ia a clean cut eon tact between porphyry and basalt and contains mineral from the grass roots. The Marion G. embraces a small lake, located on a huge fissure vein, also mineralized. The Conniemac hat secured a lease and bond on the Huckleberry Nos 1 and 2. Thit property adjoins the Big Four and presents a wonderful showing of gold ore from the surface. AISJdIO ( High Grade Newa) j Prospectors, miners and experts are puzzled over the unearthing of a mass! of mineral weighing about two tuna in ' a provpect hole at Lily lake by Mull j and Sorrick. j The fragments somewhat resemble iatpvr and chalcedony,. Their discov ers thought they were the remains of a prehistoric mastodon. But the entire Warner range is of an igneous forma tion presenting not the faintest hint of carboniferous stratas. The samples re ferred to are light in specific gravity, unilke usual petrifications. One of the fragments is on exhibition in the office ot J. P. Banley on Call fornia and First streets and is attract ing much attention. When suspended in the air by a wire and struck with a hammer or other hard substance the specimen rings loud and clear like a silver bell. Mr. Branley has sent specimens of the find to Oakland for analysis. Rich Find in Dixie ( High Grade News) Mrs. Tillie Reeder, a woman pros pector, well known in this locality and who has been prospecting in the hills for years, and who owns the Dixie group near tne Alturas, Mountain Sheep and Big Four mines has made a sensational strike on her property. It is said that the ledge on which most of the work has hlthereto been done on this property has panned $10 to $00 per ton. The rich -ore discovered has been traced to snow line and will be con tinued in a systematic manner. A Good Position Can lie had by ambitious young men and ladlet in the field of "Wire less" or railway telegraphy.
