This is auite note worthy as being the first shipment of the kind ever received in Lake county for fuel purposes, other than blacksmith shops. Charles Herring of the Lakeview Ice and Tra.-.sfer Company had a nar row escape from serious injury one day Isst week, when he fell between the wagon and the depot platform, inflict ing a painful scalp wound and cutting his ho. The Wizards will give their Easter Ball next Monday evening. April 8. Invitations are being issued to the gentlemen, all ladies being invited. Riddels, of Mainev Bros. & Co.. has submitted a bid for the con duction of the Fernlev-Susanville branch of the Southern Paotric. the bids having been opened last Saturday. As yet Mr. Riddels has not been ad vised as to who is the successful bid der. The maple flooring for C. U. Snider's new ooera house arrived last week and is being put in place. This will make an excellent floor for dancing and rol ler skating. Mr. Snider has also pur chased a new electric piano for use in i the moving picture shows. It Is rumored that Lakeview is soon to be favored with two moving picture shows. C. U. Snider has purchased a new moving picture machine, and un less an agreement can be reached be tween AI Smith, proprietor of the Ar cadia, and Mr. Snider it is probable that both will be In operation. The head of Lincoln will probably appear on the new silver dollar, a bust of Cleveland on the new ten dollar gold certificate and that of Grant on the fifty dollar one.
