The moat enjovable event of the season for the old and the Young waa the banauet riven tbe Altconiun bv the Union S. S. Fri day evening Jan. 5th. at which over 100 were present. The tanauet was the re sult of a scbolarshio contest given to the class gaining the moat regular acbolars in a given time. The con teat was a succesa in everv war. the roero oershio of the school more than doubl ing. The Altaconiuns led with 17 points, the Sundav School Scouts were second with 14 noints. The banquet was served in the dining room of the Lake hotel which was beautifully decorated with the class co'ors. gold and black. The iuest of honor taa e in the center of tbe rixim waa decorated with stream- rs of vellow and black, caunht in the center to tbe chandelier and draped to the four corners Risking a very pleasing eject. Mr. Martin aa alncken with paralvsia two years ago ami never recovewd from the stroke. 1U had been confined to hia bed several months. Hone for recovery waa al an doned la-l Saturday and relativea were summoned to the death watch. Mr. Martin ia survived by a widow, three children and one brother. The brother Marion Martin, resides In Canada. The rhildren are Mrs. Ida Schroder, wife of A. . Schroder. Mra. Florence Dobkin and Arthur Mai tin. The latter ia in California. J. M.
