This claim has been allowed as reouir

' and should be repealed for the reason
Klamath Countv Chroncile: The
Klamath Valley Warehouse company
has shipped another carload of potatoes
to Ashland, this being the second to
go U that citv. The demand for Klam
ath countv potatoes is constantly In
creasing ami the indications are that
next vear will see big market for
spuds from thia locality.
Claude II. Daggett, a manager of the
local concern, stated vesterdav thut it
will be a easy matter to dispone tf po
tatoes from thia countv. provided that
white potatoes are irrown. There is no
market to the south for the blue skin
ned varietv. these having to be dispos
ed of in the vallevs to the went of here.
If white potatoes are raised thev can
bo shipped couth and easily compete
with those irrown in the Sacramento
valley. Already the reputation of the
potatoes that are grown here is spread
ing and if a soecilal effort is msde this
citv should become one of the big
shippers of potatoes in the state. j

There was rejoicing when it was '
learned that the representatives of the

j conclusion of an understanding. j
It is clearly understood that this'
action t y the powers is taken in the
most friendly manner.
I The pourparler, between Wu Ting
Fang and lanir Shao Vi cussed with
' surprising smootheness and th"rc is a
complete absence of unv strain which
' miuht hHve seriously impeded the dip
: lomatic progress of the conference. j
! It is unmistakably evident, however. ,
j that the continuation of the Manchu ;
: rule, even as concerns of the imperial

j much significance is aitached to the

The revolutionary delegates believe,
that thev will be victorious in their'
demands for a republic. Even the ;
staunchest of the imperialist delegates '
admit that Manchu rule is doomed.
The meeting has brought from the
north manv bureaucratic Chinese, who
after twenty four hours in Shanghai. 1
express astonishment at conditions

Tang Shuo Yi's delegates evidently
are impressed with the widespread
demand for a republic, b u t
they still hope that tne combined au- j

powers undoubtedly will have weight
in the negotiations.
Comment has been aroused bv the
prominence of persons of British
nationality, both officers and others, in
connection with the conference and the
journey from Peking to the south of

at Hankow the British consul met the
