Rusk, however, will not be without ooDcsition. the names of not less than a dozen other tavored sons of Eastern Oregon havine been cro Doned as the rieht sort of Congressional timber, including Judge Geo. T. Bald win, of Klamath Fails. In anv event, the contest in that district will be an interesting one. If the field becomes too'cor.gested with candidates it is re parcel as more than a trubabilitv Dv those acouair.tei with the oolitical ituation in that section of the mate that A'. R. 'The only avowed opponent of Rep resentative Hawler. who seeks re election from the First District, is Georsre C. Browr.ell. of Oregon Citv. Walter A. Dimicic. State Senator from Clackama.-Countv. is recarded a possi ble caixdidate azainst Ha lev. An other possibility is Georee K. Rodeerss anex-Mavor of Salem, but Rodcrers does net enthuse over the idea as much as some of his friends would like to. have him." TRIP TO PAISLEY Continued from first page Mrs. ed into the livir.e room by Witters, where a few momenta were pleasantly Epent teside a britt fire in the &&en fireplace, and on their depar ture the party was eiven a fine lot of apples which thev greatly er.joved on their way home. The return trip was made on the east side of Chewaucan valley, dinner being taken at the White House, owned that several members of the tarty came near remaining for another meal. Numerous kinds of vegetables were erved. which together with the rich brown gravy from the meat made a moet appetizing meal. And when to that was added other attractive dishes, such as stewed fruit, mince pie. apple dumplings, with rich cream such as ia only to be bad in the country then it was that Mr. Watson gave up. but not so with the Examiner scribe. He proceeded to do justice to the meal, although in so doing he did injustice to himself, as he afterwards learned, for he experienced a deep-seated pain for several noun thereafter. After dint er a visit was paid to the diooir.e vats, where cattle were "doctored" for the scab. J. E. Mc Coul. of Lakeview. is superintending the work, and it is carried on most expeditiously, about &00 head having been put through the dipping process Saturday. From the White House to the Hotch kUa ranch at the falls of the Chewau ean. a distance of some 12 or 15 miles, the road is perfect. It is level, smooth, bard and devoid of dufct. and by elim inating the curves it would be possible to drive at the highest speed. After leaving ihe Hotchkiso ranch. Vallev Falls is auickiv reached and from there on uo through Crookel Creek th ridee . is delightful. The road rur.3 through and alongside of tine farms, and to one who has never been through the country it is indeed a revelation. At, the White House Geo. Downs joined the partv. ard Lakeview wa9 reached at 4 o'clock. It was the most delightful trip that the Examiner family has er.joved dur-. ing their stay in Lakeview ar.d one that ' will be long remembered not only for the pleasures of the trip but for toe knowledge gained of the actual coudi tiors in thi rart of Lake County.
