Oscar Bunch: a well known livery man of Fort Klamatn, was in Lakeview this week. He was accompanying a timber cruiser who is making an ex amination of the Booth-Kellev timber lands. The Margaret lies Company are scheduled to aooear at the Ooera House tomorrow night, and will probably re main for several davs. The Company will no doubt be ..favored ..with large houses. ' Mrs. J. A. Jetmore has accented a position as teacher ofthe school t Cogswell creek. Mrs. Jetmore was formerly teacher of that school, prior to her removing to the Wagontire country. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Attorney General A. M. Crawford yeBterday left on his return home to Salem after spending several days in Lakeview on business connected with the settlement of the Warner Valley land litigation. J. Thursday, returned after a several weeks visit to his old home in North Dakota. Mr. O'Neil r ports an excellent time while absent, but was glad to te back with us once more. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rinehart. Sunday, returned from a aeveral weeks honeymoon trio in Alturas and Cedar ville. Thev were warmly welcomed bv toeir manv frienda. and the usual charivari crowd turned out for the oc casion. George Yount returned last week from Atbland. and brought back with him a large consignment of peaches for which he had previously taken orders for here. The peaches were of verv fine ouslitv. and retailed here at S1.7S per box. Charlie Baker, one of the Klamath Indiana., last week came over from the Reservation bringing with him a large load of salmon which were cauvht in the Sorague River. It ia needless to say that he found a ready sale for the fish. A party consisting of W. K. Barrv William Kepole and Jerrv Barrv, hat urdav. returned after a several weeks visit in Burns. Whi'e there W. K. Barry was fortunate enough to win one oi the horse races and feels corres pondingly happy. George Swanston. the Sacramento stock buver, returned to town the fore- i part of the week after a short visit in his home town and San Francscio. Wbil in the latter place he bad an op portunity to aee President TafU and hear one of bis speeches. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shepherd and Kale Shepherd, of the Shepherd Piano Cnmoany. were in town the .forepart of the week on a business visit. They have teen highly successful in dispos ing of pianos in and about Lakeview during their recent visits. 2 Wm. S. Towner, clerk in the U. S. Landon. a former resident of Lakeview who is now bomesteading in the Chewaucan Vallev. waa in town over Sunday. Mr. Landon is much pleased with hia ranch property and succeeded in raising some excellent crops during the past season. The annual examination for the posi tion of Assistant Forest Ranger will be held at the local Forest office on Mon day and Tuesday next. Monday will probably be devoted to the written test, while Tuesday will be spent ex amining applicants in the held. Elzear Pelletier. of Plush. Friday came over from the salt marshes with a large consignment of aalt ior Bailev & Maasingill. The salt Is used for stock, but Mr. Pelletier states that on nutting it throusrh a purifying process it is also very good for table use. The members of the G. G. G. Club gave a verv nice reception last Thurs day night, in honor of Miss Mabel Rice, who returned that day after an extended absence. Refreshments were served and the evening was pleasantly spent in the enjoyment of games and other amusements. John C. Lake and Klamath counties have lately been added to Mr. Spinney's district and he is now making a "get-ae-ouainated" trio in his new territory.
