Iy a lit tle care the method of keeping accouiiis can be bo systematized us to amount to ouly a few -uouients a week. The first and most Important book Is the check book. The "check book hab it" will often save a great dent of money and trouble. If you lose your check book or hare It stolen, you still have your money left You do not have to waste time trying to make 1 change, 6lnce the check can b always made out for exactly the right amount. When you plve a man a check In pay ment for what you owe him, he must sign that check before he can draw the money on It. At the end f every month the bank returns ttiMe signed checks t yon, and you thus tare re ceipts for nil the money you paid out during the month. For general accounts any gimd sl:ud blank book will answer. There are a number of specially made farmers" ac count book.-', but a blank book which you can rule to suit yourself will le just as good or better. The first page should be devoted to an Inventory of the stock, grain and machinery, to gether with their value. Following this should be a map of the farm. Next to this should come the cash account. A convenient and simple way of arranging this Is as follows: labor enough rhould lie nddinl to nnv for the use cf the machinery. The cost of siH'd will Itii lUile donning, test ing mid other preparation. rerhnpH the best way to figure the value of the manure applied Is to Include It In the rent of the land. Thus the corn crop, which receives the first Nnellt from the manure, can be charged a hklier rent on this account. The amount charged tn the oat crop will bo less, while the clover crop, which really ntlds to the fertility of the lind. will pay the lowest rent of all. Where th grain Is fed on the farm there will f course be no charge f r !" r'oi"-. The cost of clover seed, which I s,wn with the oats, should be c'rir-rd ti the next year's clover crop. Following the espouse .1 count t. ho 11 Id come a profit tin. I los ; r:it;e; LAND ON CROP PAYMENT PLAN F.ttiht thoiiMtud acre, all under ditch, with water rights.
