The Fast seems to be having a spell of weather. On tbe 12th inst tbe Niagara river was frozen over, and tbe great falls silent, while on tbe Kith a heavy snow fall occurred at Chillicotbe, Missouri, and tbe mercury dropped below tbe freezing point, and it is feared tbe large apple and peach orchards of tbat section will be damaged. All through Western Canala the weather ranged from 12 degrees above at Winnipeg to 14 below at Prince Albert. It nee ms strange to read such re ports, aud especially so when at tbe same time we were enjoying splendid weather in Lakeview while in tbe Warner valley it baa been hot and apricot trees are in full bloom in Sum mer lake. Sunny Oregon beats all other sec tions for Hoe weather the year round. A Dorris butcher is on trial for stealing a beef from tbe "D" ranch.
