It loves bim the enemies he has made in his effort to runt wronjs to which the people of this land bnve been subjected. In every endeavor he naturally has met bitter opposition flora those intrench ed under what is termed "vested rights", rights stolen without re course from the people of this whole land, for the benefit aud perpituity of private individuals. In this way we have seen the natural oil deposits of the countiy go into the capacious maw of Rockerfeller; transportation facilities, the iron deposits, the tim ber resources, the coal measures, the telephone, the electric lights, the water systems of municipalities, all public utilities that should be owned by and for the people, have all gone into private bands, and have become "vested interests," levers with which to extract from the people of this nation every possible cent of tribute, for the sole and only purpose of up building aud perpetuating the most cullosal private fortunes the world has ertr Itnown, These . .. .. i.. .... l.i... i , i. ....i i.. , uite lmutatiou iu time of to rights j your etonmch, or if you have heart- ouru, that is a simi indigestion. conferred. of , "As we are met for with conditions of industry serioudy allectiog the public welfare, we should not hesitate to adopt measure? f.ir the protection of the public merelv because those meas ures are new. When the public wel fare is involved, Cougress should re solve any rtasouable doubt as to its legislative power iu favor of the peo ple and against seekers of a special privilege. " In the years to come, when the e fort th s man has made toward curb ing the rapacity and regulating the work of predatory wealth is better known, and the beneHcial aud far reaching effects for the couimou good is more thoroughly understood and appreciated, then will come to bim the plaudit: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant !" May bis kind increase! DEHAND FOR CHEAP AUTO A writer in a technical journal, whose views on the subject may be considered reasonably autboritive, says the time will come iu a few years when touring automobile may be bought for ?100 and runabouts for righta &0, and be goes on to imagine the to such utilities men bestowed by un faithful and unthinking, if not abso lutely venal, servants of the people, witbuot recompense, "ast or present, adequate to the emencity of the benefits that wer thereby gained by tbese private interests or individuals. Tbese interests, secure in their poss ession, bulwarked by decision of courts, and congressional enactment, can laugh at any attempt that now can be made toward reimbursement of the people or for restitution of the valuable rights acquired. Taxation by means of the inheritance tax, the income tax, and the like, all have been declared unconstitutional by the courts. In view of this fact it would seem the ouly way open to reach tbem is by repeal of the constitutional clauses behind which they defy the people. This may be aud undoubtedly will be done when the meople, the voting public unite with a determina tion to right some of tbe wrongs en dured pnd caused by acts of servants dominated, as in the case of the United States congress, by the oligar chy nf wealth thus filched from all the people of this great laud. Tbe trouble is, however, that, great as was the natural resources of tbe land, the greater percentage of such things are now exhausted. The coal supply, aud the timber for fuel sup ply, are about depleted. The coal is gone and cannot be replaced, and tbe name may also be said of the petrol eum deposit. Aud any attempt to ward refort-stration must necessarily be hunted in extent because of tbe encroachment upon lauds formerly occupied by foreat growth, of a dense ana constantly increasing population, and also Lecause of the leught of time required to bui d up a forest growth. In view of these conditions tar see ing "captains of industry" Lav already bogun tbe process of securing all tbe water powers of tbe land, with tbe ultimate purpose of reaping tri-, bute from tbe public at such time when the depiction of our coal oil and forest growth, will make such utilities valuable and profitable for purposes of evolving beut, light and power. It is stated, autboritively, that it is now ! only a matter of ten years before ad railroad lines will be operated by electrical power. Indeed, tbe tran sition has already begun both in tbe east aud iu the west. Feeling that tbe time had come to put a stop to this further robbery of tbe people, that would go toward in ordinately enriching the few at tbe expense of tbe many, last week Presi dent Roosevelt returned to conrgeos without bis signature, a bill that bad passed both bouses, grauting a per petual right to publio waters for pur poses of generating electricity. In returuiug the bill, the President well and truly gave his reasons therefor, poor clerks aud others who w ill then own their own automobiles aud be able to dispense wirb tbe necessity of street car or railway transit. Tbe Examiner man is waiting for tbe above blessed day to come. Some claim that with cheap autom obiles '' wid come tbe time wbeu pe-ple will not care for tbem. In this they argue from tbe decline of tbe bicyole fad, showing thai; the rage for wheels was at its height when tbe price ranged from f 100 to $150, and that the de mand fell off with the arrival of tbe ?I3 to ?23 wheels. Iu the case of tbe cheap auto, how ever, we are of tbe opinion that their use will largely increase. It is an entire y different proposition to ride with comfort in an auto, with two or more together, than it was for the 'Bicycle built for two." tandem style, with every nerve alert to keep from capsizing aud meeting with acci dent. There wad no social i hi i ty in such ridiug, no chance to let go of tbe handle bars and, no wonder tbe bicycle went into "innocuous desue tude", as drover observed. It wasn't built ngbt ! But, it is different with the auto. With appliances for operation of trakes and thetooter under foot, aud with one hand on the steering wheel, the tbe other arm is at I'berty to place where it will do the most good. Speed the day of tbe cheap auto ! Ask your Pharmacist for a fHi-centl case of Papa's Diapepsin and take one! triaugule after spper tonight. There i will be no sour rising, no belching of! indiaested food mixed with acid, uo I stomach una, or heartburn, fullness or heavy feeling in the stomach. Nausea, Debilitating ueadacheg, lHzziness or lutestinal gripiug.. This will all go, and. besides, tbee widbeuo sour food left over in tie stomach to poi son your breath with iiaueous odors. Pape's Diapepsin is a certain cure for ail stomach misery, because it will take hold of your food and digest it just the same as if your stomach wasu't there. Actual, prompt relief for all your stomach miseries is at your Pharma cist, waiting for you. These large T0 cent rases cuutaiu more than sufficient to cure a case ot Dyspepsia or ludigestion.
