Senator Fulton has evidently seen the handwriting oo the wall, aud nas withdraw from tbe -senatorial race. Inasmuch s no -other . proetiueut republican iw the state aestus. inclined to cum oat tbe dictum of 'tie people as exprwesd at the primary .election it leave a Jr ld for ,tiv. .Cham berlain, and be ill be elected. Thus, through a faetioua'- war, in ;tle ranks of the republican ratty of the state we have tle inspiring spectacle of a democratic United States -Seuator from a republican etttte. It was a clear vase of role or .ruin policy on the part of alleged leaders, really bosses of the .republican party who brought about this condition. And if this rebuke by the people teaches each men a needed lesson, the chastising of tbe pasty will probably result in ultimate good. The Eiaajiuerbae noeomity toward Gov. Chamberlain, but as a matter of party policy and fealty bad a prefer ence for Havy fitott, Judge Benson or some other brainy roau within tbe republican roka, as senator from tbe State. The election of Governor i Chamber lain, a atauoeh democrat to tbe gov ernorship, and bis -subeequeut eleva tion to the United States Senate naturally make one pause ,in the claim that this is a republican state. It looks as though tbe oajpie willed. Such being tbe case some other brainy democrat, like our own Judge Daly, may yet duplicate Cloy. Chamberlain's experience nd there are undoubtedly many republicans down this way who would assist sa-rb ambit-ion to a uc cessful end. It is said: "Poltics make queer tj fellowe, " and Oregon seems to have its lull w ) i a iu 1. 1 j ci v iimvi Tbe prices of poultry products are such as to warrant greater attention v..: : 4 n.i. i r , - log. Even with tbe attention that is now given to poultry keeping, tbe industry is an important one. From tbe best information available, tbe poultry and eggs produced in this state in 1908 recbed a total of about 85,000,000. In spite of this thousands dollars are sent out of this state a very year for poultry and eggs, and if tbla money could be kept among our own farmers it would add much to the material prosperity of our rural communities. In view of tbe foregoing, tbe ex perimental station of tbe Agricultural College at Corvallis, wishes to get in formation from tLe farmers tLem selves on tbe subect so that they may better understand tbe tieeda of tbe industry and be better able to recom mend mstbods for improving it. The station has printed a blank list of questions covering tbe above points, which can be obtained by all interested and all should be by addres sing a card oi letter to the O. A. C. Corvallis. There is a state wide effort being made to kill off tbe coyotes and other predatory animals. The sheep men are especially active In tbe matter, and are circulating petitions for tbe enactment of a county law by tbe present legislature. It would be wel for tbe stockmen to send la petitions to Hon. II. A. Brattain, member for this county, although hedo ubtless will do all he can for such a measure, but petitions would very materially aid him iu such endeavor, James A. Finch, who murdered Attorney Kalpu B. Fiubbr in the lat ter'a office in Portland on November 28tb, by shooting him in tbe back of tbe hea has been found guilty of murder in tbe first degree. He was sentenced to be banged Feb, 5, in the state penitentiary at Salem. Lakevlew is to have a steam laun dry, full particulars of which will appear later. He further Mated that while this pres cription is often prescribed In rheu matic afflictions with splendid results, he could see no reasou why it would not be a splendid remedy tor kidney and urinary troubles and backache, as it has a pfH-tiliar action upon the kidney structure, idealising tluse most important orgaus aud helping then to fift and tllte' from the blond the foul acids and waste matter which cause sickness aud suffering.
