rich milk add twenty-two ounces of
barley or oatmeal gruel (made of the

a pinch each of bicarbonate of Bod a
nnd anlt. Put eight ounces of this Into I
separate bottles and pasteurize, giv
ing u bottle at a feeding. I

end of tho yenr the baby Is taking pure
cow'b milk.
Itcglu with one bottle a day. A child
of thla age needs nourishment every
three nnd a half hours.
Potatoes, oatmeal and bread and but
ter are very bud for a baby of ten or
eleven months. A little chicken or beef
broth, clear orange Juice and beef
blood, altcruatlnw a little each day, la
nil that baby needs with hln milk.
A tcn-mouth old baby should weigh
from nineteen to twenty pounds.
Care must lie exercised In making
thin change of diet, or tho slightest or
ror iu overfeeding or too frequent feed
ing will lie rewarded by a severe nt
tnck of dyspepsia and the usual gas

fermentation lu the stomach, causing
diarrhea and colic.
NEEDLEWORK NOTES.

be of pongee covered with lace or em
broidery, although black sstln buttons
sometimes Improve the rather negative
shade of natural pongee.

gold bruld makes buttons that are not
only original, but beautiful.
