On week from tomorrow will
be the day on which the people of tble
district will make the final decision
as to who will be tbe next State Ben ,
ator from this district, and In view of)
that fact It will not be amlsi to call
attention to the condition of the !
"Senatorial market" as It appears,
today. j
Tbe (funeral opinion U that Dr. (i. II.
Merry man will tie the successful can :
dldate. He Is admittedly tbe strong-j
eat man Wore the people of tbla die-
trlct, and that he will carry this
County la absolutely certain. Lakej
County la conceded to him, and while
there ia a dispute about Crook, Dr.
Merryman'a attitude on County dvl
lon loiurea that be will more than ;
break even over there.
Had it not leen for him Crook County
would bave been divided, and with;
It would have (tone a good alice of
Klamath and Lake. He would listen '
to no compromise at any stage of the
game and was able to defeat it and i
thus saved tbe interested Counties. (
Ills record in the House has been
one of the bert ever made by a Klam
ath representative. . IDs standing a-
mong tbe leaders of tbe tate Is well
known and If be goes to tbe Senate
he will be stronger than any otber
man tbe County can aeud. Every one
knowa that it is strength of this
character that counts when it comes
to getting a thing for tbe district rep- i
resented. Merry man has ibis strength I
and it is this that makes him more I
capable of representing tbe Interests of
this district than any otber man.
One of the important bills introduc
ed by him and passed by hia sole in
fluence, was that Vrefuudlng the In
corporation Tax and annual license
fee of the Klamath Water Users
Association, for the past tbree years,
and forever emitting tbe same.
This brings it. right borne to the
pockets of the Stockholders of tbe
Association, and tbey are not likely
to forget it either.
