, ORBOON, OCTOBER J I 107.
The stage lines running into Lake
view are wholly inadequate to furnish
I ha BArv ice expected of them, and to
give the servio for which they accept
pay and promise to furnish. There is
we presume, no way to compel etige
rnmnaniea to deliver freight, anleee
they Uke the goods and contract to
deliver tbem, and when tbey do they
should be, -and are e .pected to make
delivery within a reasonable time.
A great many people who came to
Lake? lew this fall from the west
checked their baggage at Klamath
Palls and because of the crowded
stages left the baggage there to be
brought "the next trip. but the
bagagge did not come the next trip
nor the next, and even weeks' elapsed
and still it did not come. The fact
Is, the salge Companies promise to do
more than tbey can do without pa t
ting extra yearns, and this they do not
do. What . we need is an ox team,
something that gets there on time.
When the contest was fsirly on for
the best potato raised in Goose Lake
valley, tbe'dlfferent contestants being
announced In The Examiner, Mr. J
R. Bernard,, one of the old settlers of
this Taller unearthed one of the finest
ones that ws have seen from his garden
in Lakevifrw. It will be taken to Reuo
to be placed on exhibit there io the
office of the Overland Basking and
Realty Co., "by Mr. Hibbard, who is
'making a collection of fine fruits and
vegetables from this valley. Uoose
Lake valley will become prominent
through the combined efforts of Mr.
Ilibbaid and the farmers of this valley.
We may expect soon to receive our
just recognition throughout the world.

A source of regret la The News
office is tbs we havn't 'eteen columns
more each week for reading matter,
so that we could clip the bright and
brainy gems rom the editorial col

full of good lyings these days. The
newspapers of Oregon are well con

Out of Sight.
"Out of eight, out of mind," is an
old saying which applies with special
force to a sore burn or wound that's
been treated with bucklen's A ruica

and oat of existence. Pile too and
chilblains disappear under its healing
influence. Guaranteed by Lee Be all,
