The secretary of state has issued
warrants for the distribution of the
United States 5 per cent, road fund
which is apportioned among the
counties according to area. Lake
county having 5,130,240 acres, her f
mount will be 11,892.73. But tw
other counties have a larger acreage,
Harney having 6, 780,169 acres and Mai
heur 6,277,440 acres, while Crook
county falls under Lake by but 7,080
acres.
The once powerful Populist party,
which twice carried Kansas, will offl
daily disband and join the Republi
can party. Chairman Hanna has
called a conference for the holiday
week of all leaders to take official ao
tion. The Populist state ticket re
ceived only 1100 votes at the recent
-election. Mr. Hanna says it is time
to quit and that President Roosevelt
Is good enough Populist for him.
Senator Gearin has introduced a res
olation in the senate which will act as
a aort of a go-between or pacifier for
the recent Japanese trouble that has
arisen over the question of admitting
Japanese children in the public schools
of California. Senator Gearin 's res
olation will provide for an amendment
to the treaty with Japan, excluding
Japaneese coolie labor.
A Wyoming stock inspector has held
up a large shipment of sheep passing
through that state enroute to Chicago
to market, from Nyssa, this state,
on at-count of scab. The Wyoming
official alleges that a government
stock inspector at Nyssa has passed
several bands of scabby sheep the past
season. The shipment was held for
dipping.
Arthur Brown, ex-United States
Senator from Utah, who was shot last
week in Washington, D, C. by Mrs.
Bradley, for refusal to marry her, died
on the 13th. Ex -senator Brown was
engaged to Mrs. Annie C. Adams,
mother of the noted actress Maude
Adams. Mrs. Bradley is held in jail
in Washington for murder.

ERRORS FOUND.
In transcribing the records wc have found numerous
mortgages recorded in the Deed record, and not indexed; and
many deeds arc recorded in the Mortgage record and other
books. Hundreds of mortgages and deeds are not indexed
at all, and aie most difficult to trace up from the records.
We have notations of all these Errors:
Others cannot find them. We have spent hundreds of dollars hunting up
these errors, and we can guarantee our work.
