in two every tick and leave the sheep
clear of that vermin.

true pea, must be sowed early to get
best results, but in middle and south
ern Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio
nnd farther south the hot, damp days
of June nnd July blight nnd mildew

several times In Illinois nnd three out
of four years with that result. Bays a
correspondent in Orange Judd Farmer,

see the word K-a In connection with
stock feed think of the cowpea. a trop
ical plant that would rot In the jjround
If planted as early as the Canada iea.
The cowpea must not be put In the
ground until weather and soil ure both
warm, too late for ont nowlng, and
must be covered shallow la line mellow
soil. The Canada pea makes early pas
ture for May, June and July north of
the line Indicated. The cowpea comes
In about the middle of July and grows
Its best licks In August, September and
October or until frost.
